Elliott wins at Pocono
#9-Chase Elliott won the M&Ms Fan Appreciation 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway after NASCAR disqualified intial winner #11-Hamlin and second place finisher #18-Busch. The win is Elliott’s 4th of the season, 1st at Pocono, and 17th of his career. #8-Reddick finished second, followed by #99-Suarez, #20-Bell, #5-Larson, #34-McDowell, #19-Treux, Jr., #23-Wallace, #43-Jones, and #3-Dillon.
#11-Hamlin started on the pole and overcame an early spin to battle back to the front of the field. With 16 laps remaining he was running second behind #1-Chastain when the two got together and Chastain was forced up into the wall. Chastain could not continue and finished 34th. Hamlin and Kyle Busch went on to cross the finish line first and second before the disqualification. There were 15 lead changes among 10 drivers and 9 cautions for 37 yellow flag laps.

- Stage 2 was won by #18-Busch

Race Penalties: NASCAR announced Saturday evening that the #42 and #43 Petty GMS Racing teams in the NASCAR Cup Series have been assessed an L1 penalty for violating Section 14.6.5.E Rocker Box Assemblies of the NASCAR Rule Book. The teams have been assessed with the loss of 35 driver and owner points, and the crew chiefs for both cars have been ejected for the weekend.
