Reddick wins at Texas
#8-Tyler Reddick won the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. The win is his 3rd win of the year, 1st at Texas Motor Speedway and 3rd career win.
#22-Logano finished 2nd followed by #31-Haley, #12-Blaney, #14-Briscoe, #43-Jones, #24-Byron, pole winner #6-Keselowski, #5-Larson, and #11-Hamlin.
The race was marred by a record number of cautions, many from drivers having tires go down.
Playoff drivers having problems on the day: On lap 79, #20-Bell brought out the caution with a flat tire. He was able to stay on the lead lap, but spun again on lap 137 and the team was unable to repair the car. He finished 34th. #48-Bowman hit the outside wall on lap 98. The team had to fix a toe link and he lost 8 laps. He battled back to 5 laps down but finished 29th.
#9-Chase Elliott finished 32nd. While leading the race near the end of stage 2, he lost a tire, got loose and into the outside wall. The car caught fire and he had to get out, ending his day. The race was red flagged for 55 minutes on lap 221 due to rain and lightning. There were 36 lead changes among 19 drivers and a track record 16 cautions for 91 yellow flag laps. The average speed of the race was: 114.784mph. The time for the race was 4 hours, 21 minutes, 53 seconds (not counting the red flag).
