Van Gisbergen wins at Chicago
#88-Shane Van Gisbergen won the Grant Park 165 NASCAR Cup Series race at the Chicago Street Course. The win is his second win of the year, second at Chicago and third career win. #54-Ty Gibbs finished 2nd followed by #45-Tyler Reddick, #11-Denny Hamlin, #8-Kyle Busch, #16-AJ Allmendinger, #60-Ryan Preece, #48-Alex Bowman, #33-Austin Hill, and #1-Ross Chastain. Van Gisbergen started from the pole, lead 26 laps, and was leading the race by more than two seconds when the caution came out on the final lap due to an accident by #51-Cody Ware. The fastest lap bonus was earned by #45-Tyler Reddick.
There were 6 lead changes among 5 drivers and 7 cautions for 15 yellow flag laps. The average speed of the race was: 66.674mph.
