Elliott wins at Atlanta
#9-Chase Elliott won the Quaker State 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway. The win is his first win of the year, second at Atlanta and 20th career win. #6-Brad Keselowski finished 2nd followed by #48-Alex Bowman, #45-Tyler Reddick, #43-Erik Jones, #47-Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., #38-Zane Smith, #10-Ty Dillon, #17-Chris Buescher, and #77-Carson Hocevar.
Elliott ran up front through much of he race and led 41 laps on the night but had to pass Keselowski on the final lap to get the win. Pole sitter #22-Joey Logano was caught in the accident at the start of stage 2 and could not continue. He finished 36th. The race was delayed by rain midway through stage 1, leading to a 15 minute red flag. Just after the start of stage 2, an accident involved more than half the field and led to a 9 minute red flag for track cleanup. The fastest lap bonus was earned by #42-John Hunter Nemechek. There were 46 lead changes among 13 drivers and 10 cautions for 68 yellow flag laps.
