Wallace wins at the Brickyard
#23-Bubba Wallace won the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The win is his first win of the year, first at Indianapolis and third career win. #5-Kyle Larson finished 2nd followed by #11-Denny Hamlin, #60-Ryan Preece, #6-Brad Keselowski, #34-Todd Gilliland, #12-Ryan Blaney, #20-Christopher Bell, #48-Alex Bowman, and #77-Carson Hocevar.
Pole sitter #19-Chase Briscoe had to pit for fuel before the final restart and finish 18th. Wallace was in control of the race, with a lead of more than 4 seconds over Larson, when rain hit turn one and forced an 18 minute red flag for track drying with 4 laps remaining. During the first overtime event, #38-Zane Smith wrecked, setting up a second overtime attempt. Wallace saved enough fuel to hold off Larson through both restarts and take the win. The fastest lap bonus a earned by #11-Denny Hamlin.
The In-Season Challenge was won by #54-Ty Gibbs. There were 15 lead changes among 10 drivers and 6 cautions for 28 yellow flag laps. The average speed of the race was: 124.598mph.
