Larson wins at Watkins Glen
#5-Kyle Larson won the Go Bowling at the Glen NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International. The win is his 2nd win of the year, 2nd at Watkins Glen International and 18th career win. #16-Allmendinger finished 2nd followed by .#22-Logano, #9-Elliott, #99-Suarez, #34-McDowell, #8-Reddick, #20-Bell, #17-Buescher, and #43-Jones.
Larson took the lead from Elliott with 5 laps remaining and held off a late charge by Allmendinger for the win. Pole winner #9-Elliott clinched the regular season championship with his finish. #91-Kimi Raikkonen, participating in his first Cup Series race, finished 37th after an accident on lap 46.
The race began more than 90 minutes late after a couple lightning holds and poor visibility prevented an on time start. Due to wet conditions at the start, teams also began the race on rain tires. There were 12 lead changes among 9 drivers and 5 cautions for 11 yellow flag laps.
