Allmendinger wins at the Charlotte Roval

#16-A.J. Allmendinger won the Bank of America Roval 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The win is his 1st win of the year, 1st at Charlotte and 3rd career win. #24-William Byron finished 2nd followed by #8-Kyle Busch, #54-Ty Gibbs, #22-Joey Logano, pole winner #45-Tyler Reddick, #17-Chris Buescher, #48-Alex Bowman, #9-Chase Elliott, and #1-Ross Chastain.

Allmendinger led 46 of the 109 laps, including the final 33 laps. He was never seriously challenged late in the race despite several late restarts. Drivers advancing to the Round of 8: #5-Kyle Larson, #11-Denny Hamlin, #12-Ryan Blaney, #17-Chris Buescher, #19-Martin Truex Jr., #20-Christopher Bell, #24-William Byron, #45-Tyler Reddick. Drivers eliminated from the playoffs: #1-Ross Chastain, #6-Brad Keselowski, #8-Kyle Busch, #23-Bubba Wallace. There were 7 lead changes among 6 drivers and 7 cautions for 18 yellow flag laps. The average speed of the race was: 81.596mph.
