Bell wins at Homestead
#20-Christopher Bell won the 4EVER 400 Presented by Mobil 1 NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The win is his 2nd win of the year, 1st at Homestead and 6th career win. #12-Ryan Blaney finished 2nd followed by #45-Tyler Reddick, #24-William Byron, #16-A.J. Allmendinger, #23-Bubba Wallace, #54-Ty Gibbs, #22-Joey Logano, #10-Aric Almirola, and #3-Austin Dillon.
Bell never took the lead in the race until 37 laps remaining. He came back after a late caution to grab the lead again with 15 laps to go and pulled away to win by 1.6 seconds over Blaney. Several playoff drivers had trouble during the race: #5-Kyle Larson led 96 laps on the day, but hit the barrier trying to get onto pit road with 54 laps remaining. He could not continue and finished 34th. #11-Denny Hamlin got into the wall in turn 2 with 32 laps remaining after something broke in the steering. He finished 30th.
Pole winner #19-Martin Truex, Jr. had engine problems with 30 laps left and fell out, finishing 29th. There were 25 lead changes among 9 drivers and 5 cautions for 35 yellow flag laps. The average speed of the race was: 125.221mph.
