Chastain wins at COTA
#1-Ross Chastain won the Echopark Texas Grand Prix NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas for his first career win. #48-Bowman finished 2nd followed by #20-Bell, #9-Elliott, #8-Reddick, pole winner#12-Blaney, #19-Truex, Jr., #2-Cindric, #43-Jones, and #3-Dillon.
Reddick grabbed the lead with 3 laps to go, just before the final caution of the race that set up an overtime attempt. Chastain took the lead and held it until the final lap. Allmendinger briefly took the lead before late contact between Chastain, Allmendinger, and Bowman sent Allmendinger into Bowman, allowing Chastain to grab the lead and the win. There were 13 lead changes among 9 drivers and 9 cautions for 13 yellow flag laps.
- Stage 1 was won by #99-Suarez
- Stage 2 was won by #11-Hamlin
Perfect Team (per category): Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, Aric Almirola, Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez and Justin Haley for a total of 1,162 points.

Penalties: NASCAR announced substantial penalties to Brad Keselowski and Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing following the race at Atlanta. The penalty pertains to the modification of a single source supplied part (post-race inspection). L2 Penalty, Sections 14.1 C&D Overall Assembled Vehicle Rules; 14.5 A&D Body Note: Modification of a single source supplied part.
Additionally, All L2 Penalties found after Post-Race inspection is completed will result in a Penalty(ies) based off the minimum Penalty options and the Race finishing position will not count towards eligibility for the Playoffs, advancement in the Playoffs, eligibility for non-Points Events, and tie breakers. Crew chief (Matt McCall) has been fined $100,000 and suspended from the next four NASCAR Cup Series championship points events. Team has been assessed with the loss of 100 owner points, 100 driver points and 10 NASCAR Playoff points.
