Hamlin wins at Richmond

#11-Denny Hamlin won the Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway. The win is his 2nd win of the year, 5th at Richmond and 53rd career win. #22-Joey Logano finished 2nd followed by pole winner #5-Kyle Larson, #19-Martin Truex, Jr., #9-Chase Elliott, #20-Christopher Bell, #24-William Byron, #6-Brad Keselowski, #17-Chris Buescher, and #45-Tyler Reddick.

The start of the race was delayed 16 minutes due to rain. The race started with the wet weather package and the track damp, but NASCAR was able to have drivers switch over to slick tires by lap 40. The race ended after the one overtime attempt.  Truex, Jr was seemingly in control of the race when the caution flew for a spin by Larson with two laps remaining. Leaders all pitted and Hamlin took the lead on pit road.  He held the lead through the finish. There were 16 lead changes among 7 drivers and 5 cautions for 54 yellow flag laps. The average speed of the race was: 94.076mph.ristopher Bell came up short at Byron won by .7 second. There were 11 lead changes among 7 drivers and 2 cautions for 4 yellow flag laps. The average speed of the race was: 82.224mph.
